The new two-storey terminal building is more spacious than the previous one and constructed on an area of 17 acres. It features escalators, a waiting area, two conveyer belts and flight information display systems. A medical inspection room, a child care centre and new counters for airlines are also featured.
The recent unveiling is the soft launch for the terminal. The building will be completely operational by December 2011. Work still remaining at the terminal building include two aerobridges to facilitate the passengers to enter the aircraft from the lounge, razing of the old terminal building and increase in the apron area.
The new building is centrally air-conditioned and sports a spacious lounge.
