Miller has used single drops of ink to create hundreds of unique patterns for three designs titled Drip, Drop, and Run.

Drip combines the chaotic, Pollock-esque ink drippings with the tightly controlled forms of typography into a series of organic, interconnected letters created by steering wet ink into letterforms. The outcome is a product that can add to the décor of both a kid’s bedroom, as well as for a design firm’s conference room. The Drop and Run patterns comprise circular blots of ink and tree-like patterns respectively.

After experimenting with actual ink and paper, the designs were scanned into a computer and carefully arranged into a grander interlocking and overlapping design. The three patterns, collectively called Ink, combine the free-flowing nature of the liquid line with the straight lines of interior architecture. Though Ink is tailored for use in hotels, schools, and other commercial settings, the patterns are also suitable for a design-savvy residence.
