The terminal building, spanning over an area of 700,000 square metres, is slated to be the largest one in the capital. The new terminal’s central area will be equivalent to three full-sized football pitches. The ceiling at the highest point of the terminal building will measure 52 metres in height. It will be visible from a distance of over 1.5km.

The complex will house retail units, along with food and beverage outlets covering 20,000-25,000 square metres. The facilities will encompass an 8400 square metre indoor park. There will be associated support buildings spanning 800,000 square metres, and will include access to 16-20 aircraft parking stands.

The terminal will have an initial annual passenger handling capacity of 27-30 million passengers. Construction of the terminal forms part of a $6.8 billion expansion project of the airport.
