Based in a brand new site adjacent to Millennium Point in central Birmingham, BOA combines academic teaching and vocational courses with subjects ranging from music to broadcasting, musical theatre to performing arts, and web design to gaming.
BOA will feature a fully equipped theatre; four dance studios; six rehearsal studios; a 3D technology suite; and an open air amphitheatre. Additional amenities will include scenic construction workshop; costume design and construction rooms; make-up and props workshop; studios for visual arts and design, textiles, TV and film; digital editing suite; and animation and digital arts facilities.
BOA is sponsored by Ormiston Trust, Birmingham City University and is a partner with Maverick TV and the BRIT School. It will open in 2011 for sixth form years and will include 14-16 year-olds in 2012.
