Post renovation, the library features a new roof, exterior painting, new sidewalks, new electric, plumbing, carpet, ceilings and walls. A ramp has been added to the facility to make it wheelchair-accessible. Kitchen and bathroom areas have also received improvements with new shelving and furniture added to the facility.

The renovation has transformed the library into a bright and airy space. Additional rooms have been added to house books and other library materials with extra seating spaces for reading and laptop use. The facility also features a separate room for library programs such as birding, art, exercise, crafts and a variety of other classes. The new landscaped outdoor space features new seating area.

The ribbon cutting ceremony of the renovated Cape May City Library library was held on May 18, 2010. Housed in the former 1900-built Verizon telephone building, the facility was in a deteriorating condition and required improvement.
