The New York City office is the second office of Diageo in the US to win LEED Gold certification, with the first being Chicago office.

The new office space was awarded high marks in all LEED categories, which consisted of energy and atmosphere, sustainable sites, indoor environmental quality, materials and resources, water efficiency and innovation in design.

The design of the new office allows maximum permeation of natural light into the inner space, which has translated into power savings for internal lighting. All the newly purchased equipment and appliances are Energy Star rated, which reap additional energy savings.

To achieve further sustainability, almost 50% of the furniture in the office is made of recycled materials. Almost 32% of the total furniture is old and reused. During construction, the project team has recycled 95% of the construction waste. Almost 25% of the materials have been sourced from within 500 miles of the site.
