Upon completion, the proposed redevelopment will feature a redefined and re-routed Horse Walk from the Parade Ring to the Racecourse. There would be adaptations and improvements to The Tented Village, too.

Major improvements will be made to ground level circulation to / from and around the Parade Ring / new Grandstand and to / from the Tented Village along with a major new elevated deck circulation. The project will also involve an integrated refurbishment of the Weighing Room and Paddock Building. The new Grandstand will replace the existing A&R Stand and Royal Box, and will include new annual members’ facilities, general public viewing areas, private boxes and Royal Box facilities.

The proposed project will include a review and reorganisation of pedestrian movement around the Parade Ring on multiple levels to and from the Paddock and the Racecourse and eastwards across the Horse Walk to the Guinness Village area. Long-term connectivity to the Honeybourne railway line and the newly established Ellenborough Park Hotel link which will allow easier access for guests into the course is also on the cards.

The scheme, which is under consideration for planning consent, is anticipated to complete in time for the Cheltenham Festival in March 2016.
