The project has been executed by the fundraising wing of the hospital known as Edward Foundation, in association with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. The facility, spanning about 2000 square feet, houses a living room comprising relaxation areas, a kitchen, and two sleeping rooms.
The new family room has also been equipped with showers and a playroom dedicated to patients and siblings. In addition, the facility incorporates a pair of computer stations which offer internet service. The construction and ongoing maintenance of the new facility is being financed via the Edward Foundation’s KidsCare campaign.
