All these independent schools feature passive design principles which ensure that the fabric of the building and the spaces within it respond effectively to local climate and site conditions to maximize comfort for the occupants. Envirotecture has integrated a number of passive design features such as day-lighting, cross ventilation as well as the use of local and traditional construction materials.
The plans also include construction of water tanks to ensure a clean and reliable supply of drinking and hand washing water for teachers and students.
Envirotecture is involved in the Laos school building scheme partnering with World Concern and local villagers, supported by the Lao Government. World Concern is a non-profit humanitarian organization providing community development and disaster response to the world’s poor.
Envirotecture specializes in creating building and landscaping that harmonize the needs of the occupants with the forces of nature, to create naturally comfortable and interesting buildings that require minimal external inputs.
