“Selecting products which conform to the highest level of fire regulation and which carry all the fire safety standards and certification is as important to our customers as the price,” said Darren Williams from Laurel Food Projects which was responsible for specifying the insulated panels from Kingspan.

“This is why we specified Kingspan’s Firesafe, KS1100CS, insulated wall and ceiling panels. These products are not only lighter and easier to install than other building panels but they have an impressive fire safety record.”

The panels were supplied and erected on site and the project completed by cold store insulation specialists, Carter Coldstore Systems.

Kingspan’s Firesafe insulated panels are insurer approved and LPCB certified. They have been shown to cause no spread of fire within the core, no flaming droplets, low smoke emissions and they present no additional risk for fire fighters.

The KS1100CS panel range is an insulated panel system, which has been designed for use in temperature-controlled environments such as cold stores, chill stores and food and hygiene safe applications within an internal temperature range of +40C to –40C.

Continental Fine Foods imports a wide range of high quality European foods, mainly meat-based, for sales throughout the United Kingdom. The new 6000 square metre chill store and dispatch area was built as part of an expansion of the business and also includes a canteen and fork lift truck charging area, for overnight charging of fork lift batteries.
