A complete redevelopment of St Andrew’s stadium rather than moving to a new stadium is expected. The new design plans would include incorporating a hotel within a new structure. The total cost of the changes is estimated to cross £20 million ($33million).
Increase in capacity was not revealed currently, however there were talks of building a stadium with a capacity of 35,000 – 40,000 at St Andrew’s.
Birmingham International Holdings, the consortium led by Carson Yeung, have been exploring options to improve the clubs facilities since completing a takeover for the club in 2009.
