Maggie’s Centre has recently been awarded the 2009 RIBA Stirling Prize for the building of the year. Hawa Junior 80 and Junior 120 had been selected for the uniqueness of their design, which work on silent finger touch operation even with heavy wooden doors weighing up to 120kgs each.
The system also suffices the EN standard 1527 for sliding door systems ensuring a trouble free guarantee for many years. Though there are several Maggie’s Centres in Scotland, this was the first in England, whose founder is Maggie Keswick Jencks. The sliding doors have been used to create a domestic warm atmosphere for the people, allowing free movement of the people.
