The 98-bed, three-storey, behavioral health hospital will comprise an outpatient treatment area and assessment area for therapists, case workers and medical staff. The new adolescent and children’s units will feature 20 beds comprising two isolation rooms, two private rooms as well as two seclusion rooms. The units will also possess a kitchen, laundry, classroom and office area.
The new adult unit, likely to be placed on the third floor, will have 40 beds and will feature areas for nursing stations, two kitchens, two laundry areas and two conference rooms. There will also be space for two game rooms, two craft rooms and separation between both voluntary and involuntary patients in this unit.
The hospital offers psychiatric treatment to children, adolescents and adults. The project will be funded through $29 million received in bond sales.
