HNTB will present a blueprint for the various sports-related facilities at Duke in the 30-week project.
The 2,000-acre Duke campus currently faces several pressing facility needs for student recreation as well as intercollegiate athletics, including enhancements and renovations for the football and baseball complexes.
HNTB will fit in inputs from several affected groups into a comprehensive athletic master plan that will be integrated within the university’s overall master plan, says Tom Tingle, national director of sports architecture for HNTB, and the firm’s principal-in-charge for this project.
HNTB’s sports division, created in 1975, has been involved in the expansion of numerous college football stadiums and the design of several minor league baseball stadiums.
The company is best known for its highway and transit system design, as well as airports and sports arenas.
