The contract was awarded to the design firm in 2008. The designer has designed the interiors based on the chocolate chain’s packaging of its product.
A classic canvas is being created to showcase the chocolates. Black-and-white color palette is being used, emphasized by textural variety, depth, and layering.
Stone-tiled floors and treated wood will be used to define the interiors of the store. Use of more natural materials in the stores, from its plantation on St Lucia, reflects the bean-to-bar business style of Hotel Chocolat.
Presently, the new designs are being applied to four new stores of Hotel Chocolat, each measuring 1,000 square meters. The first two stores are slated to open in Boston, US, and Harrogate, UK, in mid August, while the other two in both Boston and Harrogate, will be opened later on.
A private tasting room is scheduled to be included in one of the Boston stores, wherein customers will be allowed to taste the chocolate with wine. This feature will further be rolled out at the retailer’s bigger stores in the near future.
Terry Moore is involved in designing the new eco-tourism center and hotel, scheduled to be built on Hotel Chocolat’s Caribbean plantation, to be opened next year. The hotel will include six lodges and a central structure integrating a restaurant.
