With the LEED-Gold certification from the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC), HSBC Bank Egypt Global Service Centre has also become the first HSBC building in the Middle East to receive this certification. The four-story building spanning 21,000 square meters, features ground floor with three typical floors and two underground parking floors.
The HSBC Global Service Centre has been integrated with a host of green features. The energy-efficient design of the building enables energy consumption cost saving by 9%; chilled water consumption cost saving by 39%; and domestic water consumption cost saving by 47%. Another significant factor which enabled the building to achieve the prestigious green rating is that about 84% of construction waste has been diverted from landfill.
The facility is located in Giza, Egypt’s Smart Village Cairo master-planned development.
