The new 159 guestroom Hyatt Place Omaha Downtown/Old Market will be built on the northwest corner of Jackson Street and 12th Street in the Old Market district. The nine storey hotel has been designed by DLR Group.
The guestrooms will feature the Cozy Corner, an eight-foot sectional sofa sleeper; plush Hyatt Grand Bed; and ergonomic work center. Hyatt plans to offer several amenities to guests, including a StayFit@Hyatt fitness center, and several options for dining and beverages, such as a coffee and wine bar, a Grab ’n Go joint, Guest Kitchen offering made-to-order food around the clock, and a.m. Kitchen Skillet.
Construction on hotel is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2012 and is penciled for opening in 2014. Upon opening the hotel will create 50 jobs.
