The project was approved by the Indiana University Board of Trustees in August 2011. The new lodge will be the sixth housing to be built on the campus. It will accommodate nearly 90 students and will incorporate a rustic design similar to the existing IU Southeast Lodges. The facility will consist of one-, two-, and four-bedroom apartments. The apartment units will sport full kitchens, living rooms, as well as private bathrooms.
The lodge will imbibe a host of green features conforming to LEED Silver standards. It will be the first LEED project constructed on the campus.
The facility is expected to open by 2013 end.
