The Biosfera I line comprises three products namely the Bouclé, Velour and Micro. The firm pioneers the use of Microtufting technology in Micro which makes its yarn weight the lowest ever for a carpet tile. The technology makes the tile durable like a hard floor while offering a soft, carpet-like feel.
Biosfera I is formed of 100% reclaimed yarn consisting of pre consumer and post consumer raw materials. Post consumer reused raw material makes up for 30% of the recycled yarn. These post consumer materials are procured through different sources like recycled commercial fishing nets which are at the end of their lifespan with backing material from the firm’s products. The rest of the yarn constitutes pre-consumer reused raw materials offered by internal and external sources. A carpet tile recycling system known as ReEntry 2.0 is utilised to recycle the tiles and reprocess the yarn and backing.
