The $185,000 project will be executed by Kittery, Maine-based Pine Brook Corporation. The facility will comply with handicapped accessibility standards post overhaul. The revamped facility will also be equipped with new toilets, lighting fixtures, as well as ventilation units. The basic infrastructure of the building will be substituted following the makeover.
The facility has already completed creation of seven new stairs in concrete which lead to the front portion of the building. This front part now features a new portico over the main building entrance. Green-toned half walls from the male and female changing spaces in the building rear have also been phased out as part of the project.
The upgrades are slated to be completed by April 2012 with the facility expected to reopen by the end of May 2012 or early June 2012.
