The stadium is planned to be large and will be located nearby Steinbrenner Field. A capital campaign to raise $2 million is already underway for the new on-campus ballpark.
The stadium will feature locker rooms, covered batting cages, coaches’ offices and a trophy hall. New Tigers athletic director Terry Rupp and baseball coach Richie Warren were highly instrumental in the design phase of the new park. Jesuit alumni and development director Nick Suszynski stated that they have been successful in raising nearly one million dollars during three months of fundraising.
The new field will be named in honor of legendary former Tigers coach Paul Straub.
