Spanning 22 square metre, the jewellery store has been opened in the Plaza Indonesia shopping mall in Jakarta.
The boutique is designed to mirror the experience of the John Hardy workshop with the curves on the terraces, lush bamboo groves and water-smoothed river stones. In a display of the jeweller’s legendary craftsmanship, Guy Bedarida, creative director and head designer, created a pair of unique hand-carved door handles.
Crafted from sterling silver and Indonesian black palm wood, the dragon handle on the store’s interior grasps a silver ring, fully paved in black sapphires. The dragon’s eyes are set with Moon Quartz.
A hand-carved bamboo panel floor has been featured inside the store depicting a Naga curling around Mount Agung, the highest and holiest mountain in Bali. Its scales are hand-hammered sterling silver, enhanced with black volcanic sand and its tail is crafted from crushed terracotta.
John Hardy products will be displayed on 15 floor-to-ceiling bamboo columns that cradle silver-framed jewellery cases. All of John Hardy jewellery at the store is handmade.
