The historic room features a mix of modern and contemporary furniture, which exemplifies the designer’s signature statement of mixing traditional and contemporary. The Gold Room has 14 upholstered pieces from Lee Broom’s Salon collection, as well as oak and walnut tables featuring veneers and coloured stripes.

The furniture have been done up in soft hues that have been contrasted and accentuated with modern stud detailing. Gold Room will feature armchairs, two-seater sofas, drum-seats, dining chairs and footstools.

Lee Broom has also installed its Parqlife, a walnut veneer side table and table with brass accent; and Parquetry coffee table and lamp. Parquetry is created using wenge, oak and walnut wood, accentuated by blue accent stripe and panels. The designer has used blue and beige carpet and pendant in satin lacquered blue to further enhance the appeal of the room. Entire furnishing has been manufactured in the UK.

The Gold Room is among the series of newly furnished rooms at Lancaster House which will be used during these sporting events to showcase modern art and design highlighting the talent of British or British-trained designers, photographers, furniture makers and sculptors. Lee Broom is the sole designer who has received an entire space to itself to demonstrate British craftsmanship.
