UK based modular construction and modular building firm Portakabin will provide the fully-equipped pediatric day ward that will be used for treatment. The temporary structure of 240 square meters will house eight patient beds, nurses’ station, play area and staff changing rooms.
Hospital spokesman Clare White said: Patients and visitors will notice very little, if any disruption to their visit as the new day ward will provide the same facilities as the current ward, which sees children who come in for appointments during the day and who need to be prepared for minor operations.
The project is expected to reach completion in two years.
