The project will facilitate the hospital’s outpatient services. Work will involve overhaul of the facility’s 50-year-old surgical suite, expansion of its cardiology services, and addition of cardiology diagnostic testing and consults. The physical and occupational therapy services will be consolidated and upgraded.

The radiology services will be consolidated whereas the area for women’s services will undergo an expansion. There will be creation of a dedicated emergency entryway for ambulances. In addition, the facility will substitute an obsolete emergency backup system with a contemporary one following the makeover.

The hospital will finance the project with the help of various sources. They include the Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers grant, assistance from the Kirby Foundation, bequests to the hospital, and other private and community funding sources.
