The Maytag Drying Cabinet can accommodate silk shirts, delicate blouses, woollens and other delicate materials that cannot be tumble dried. The appliance can be used to create a customized laundry room when teamed with Maytag’s premium washing machines, tumble dryers, and its range of ‘Hidden Helpers’, including ironing boards, storage cabinets and stacking kits.

The Drying Cabinet, with a body hewn in stainless steel, can dry anything from a standard wash load garments, to wet outdoor clothes such as hats, coats, gloves, trainers and even umbrellas and boots. Equipped with racks, prongs and hanger attachments, there is room for several wet items to be dried at one go. Three rows of pull-out hangers give the equivalent of over 16 meters of clothes line. Specially designed features including drying racks on the inside of the door allow the organization of gloves, socks, ties, and scarves when being dried, and keep the laundry room clutter-free. An optional extra is a shoe rack.

The constant flow of gently heated air makes drying effective. Simple to use rotary controls offer the easy selection of three temperatures and a drying time of up to four hours. Mike Martin, Maytag’s head of product, explains, “The Drying Cabinet is built robustly to accommodate any drying requirement, and add value to any sale. It is so much more than a tumble dryer and has genuine multi-functional use.”

Maytag, the kitchen, laundry appliances and water heaters maker, was acquired by Whirlpool Corporation, a global appliance brand with headquarters in Michigan, US.
