The five-story building at 1280 Wall Street West in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, spreads over an area of 125,000 square feet. It will undergo a $7.5 million renovation to feature five to eight new classrooms, which will be completed by the time the October 2010 session begins.
Bergen, New Jersey’s community college with more than 32,000 degree-seeking and continuing education students, will renovate the facility to include high-technology classrooms, student service areas, and a library. Once completed, Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands will maintain student service functions separate from the Paramus main campus.
The complete renovation of the facility is slated to reach completion by 2012 and would feature a number of additions, such as more classrooms, a library and a day care center.
The College secured funding for the purchase through the authority, which will issue $20.5 million in bonds to the college.
