According to the new plan, the southwest pier of the under-construction terminal will be complete by late 2010. Construction of the new terminal building is expected to be over by 2013. The wing will be linked to the existing terminal and will feature a retail area too. According to the previous plans, the wing was to be unveiled by the end of 2010.

The new integrated passenger terminal spanning 4.3 million square metres across four levels is designed to serve both domestic and international flights. The terminal will feature 52 aerobridges, 184 check-in counters and 14 baggage reclaim belts. Upon completion, Mumbai airport will be able to handle 40 million passengers per annum.

CSIA is the primary airport in Mumbai, India, and is South Asia’s busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic.
