The hotel group acquired the management of the seven story, 251-room property in July 2008. Renovation of the premises is expected to cost $20-$25 million, and is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2010.
The project will include two guestroom floors to be incorporated at the same time, with the first expected to be ready for occupancy by the end of 2009. The hotel aims at retaining its French colonial features, and a home-like feel.
Nishimura, the Japanese restaurant will be among the first to be renovated, and will be followed by the remodeling of Cafe Saigon, the all-day dining and buffet restaurant Lotus Court Chinese, and OJ’s Cafe lounge and take-away.
The executive floor along with the lounge, gym, and spa area will be reworked on. Mulligan’s, the pub and casual dining space off the lobby, will be transformed into a late-night bistro spot.
