The new store concept lends a light and sleek feel to the brand’s retail space. It involves usage of the new palette of light reflective materials such as glass and crystal with Urban Decay’s signature purple, creating a striking contrast.
The store concept also features black fringed crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceilings. The concept design resonates with the use of mirrored etched glass panels, featuring Urban Decay’s skyscraper pattern throughout the space and on drawer fronts.
A custom-made glass-covered consultation table with elegant tapered metal legs has been incorporated in the design concept. A large and illuminated hand mirror has been placed on the table to encourage customers to sample the collection. The counter forms part of the consultation area, creating a more flexible space. The designers have also created new transparent acrylic tester bars to house a wide range of product testers at different points in the store scheme.
This flagship store concept first opened in Debenhams in Manchester, UK, on June 10, 2010. There are plans to roll out the concept to other stores. Sheridan & Co has been working with Urban Decay for ten years, designing the brand’s shop-in-shops.
