The $20 million renovation and improvement project by Heritage Valley Health System at its Heritage Valley Beaver campus includes a three-story building addition to house an expanded emergency department, GI Lab and shell space for future expansion. The renovation includes a future heart and vascular center, improved parking lot and a new main entrance to the hospital.

The hospital now sports a brand new entrance in the front, a brightly lit lobby, a circling staircase leading to a new endoscopy center. The bed count in the emergency department will be increased from 26 to 41, along with three seclusion rooms. This involves an increase in the available space from 12,000 square feet to 24,000 square feet.

The private rooms in the hospital now feature glass doors. There are four nurses stations in the emergency departments so that staffers can keep a better eye on patients.
