The facility is the first restaurant in the City of Riverside to receive the certification. It was entirely reconstructed as part of a project which commenced in August 2010. The restaurant reopened on 14 October 2010. The revamped restaurant imbibes several eco-friendly features such as solar arrays whose electrical energy production reaps savings in monthly utility consumption of nearly 8950kWH. It has also been equipped with low-E glass windows and LED lighting fixtures which further leads to fall in energy usage.

The restaurant incorporates low flow plumbing systems which reduce water wastage. Presence of drought-resistant native plants in the landscape enhances the facility’s water efficiency whereas installation of permeable pavers helps divert rainfall water from the storm water system. The interior of the building dons recycled denim insulation which adds to its sustainability. The facility also sports an interactive touch screen display for visitors.
