Located in Malá Strana district of Prague, the 101-bedroom property includes 16 suites created from seven buildings of historical significance. RDD, a London-based design company, has restored the historic features of the buildings and have carefully crafted them into the design.

The bedrooms feature views over the courtyards, the monastery chapel or Prague Castle. The hotel comprises two suites – the Charles Suite and the Tower Suite, located in the monastery’s astronomical tower and spread across 150 meters.

Inspired by 1930’s Czech cubism, all rooms feature a range of decorative accessories, many of which are reproductions from Czech design specialist Modernista. Some of the larger rooms also feature timber chairs by Pavel Janak and chaise-lounges by Adolf Loos.

The Augustine offers four private rooms for exclusive events, dinners and meetings and a 2,110 square feet ballroom in a double-height vaulted hall, ideal for weddings and parties. With direct access to the neighboring St. Thomas Church and rental facility of the adjacent Wallenstein Garden, summer events and wedding receptions can also be hosted.

The hotel also features a spa with four treatment rooms, a hammam offering special heat treatments, sauna, steam room, relaxation area and a gymnasium spread across 80 square meters.

The 90-seat Monastery restaurant overlooking a large courtyard, has outside seating facility during summer months. The hotel houses two bars – Tom’s Bar and the Brewery Bar. While Tom’s Bar is located in the monastery’s former barrel-vaulted double-height hall, the Brewery bar is located in the cellar of the former St. Thomas’ brewery building. Complete with 17th century stalactites and stalagmites, cubist-inspired Vlastislav Hofman-designed chairs complement the angular Brewery Bar.

Surrounded by lush countryside, castles, palaces, gardens and mountains, the hotel organizes day trips outside the city. The public library of the church is also open for the guests of the hotel.

Priced at $436 per room per night, the opening offer includes overnight accommodation with breakfast, a Taste of Bohemia cocktail served with canapés and a 30-minute tour of the Malá Strana district by horse-drawn carriage.
