Its pay back time!
Earning money from changing room locker use has to be a welcome bonus for local authorities whose budgets are increasingly spread more thinly. KeyService Ltd., (formerly SAG Controls Limited) a leading innovator in the leisure lock market for thirty years, has introduced a new generation of locker locks designed for public pools and leisure centre facilities which could give an income of £120 a day, a major contribution to refurbishment and on-going maintenance costs.
The new Safe-O-Mat lock requires two coins, one as a deposit (usually £1.00) and one for rental of the locker, 20p. It enables users to return and open the locker as many times as they wish during their visit without forfeiting their deposit. The key is only retained once the £1.00 coin is returned and the 20p rental is collected by the facility. Alternatively the lock can be adapted to retained payment from both slots.
Safe-O-Mat locks feature a multi-coin facility for changing currencies (easily changed to Euros for example, if required) and, fitted as standard, a penalty cylinder to stop unauthorised locker reservation, enabling management to release the payment if belongings are left in a locker overnight.
The Safe-O-Mat lock can also be fitted with the Promax cylinder which is ejected from the lock if a member of staff opens it with a master-key. As only one user key is provided for each locker, this serves to protect staff holding master-keys from false accusations.
There are some 4 million SAG locker locks operational worldwide and the company has developed a complete range of reliable locking systems using deposit, card, electronics and now two-coin facilities.
