The yacht will be ready in time to celebrate Sea Cloud’s 80th birthday in May 2011. MWB will refit the yacht by incorporating the latest technology, retaining the yacht’s original character. The renovated Sea Cloud Hussar will feature restored passenger cabins and refurbished deck and rigging.

The renowned German nautical architect’s firm Partner Ship Design has been chosen to oversee the design and restoration. The yacht features 69 outside cabins: 43 deluxe cabins with shower/WC, 23 junior suites with verandah and three owner suites with verandah and bathtub/WC. Other features are: lido bar and bistro, restaurant with 180-degree panoramic view, lounge with bar; library; boutique; wellness and spa area with sauna; Rasul steam bath; relaxing area; Sano Spa; beauty parlor; swimming platform; Sun Deck with jacuzzi and sun beds; fitness area with ocean view and the latest cardio equipment; hospital; and an elevator.

Built in 1931 for the New York heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post, Sea Cloud Hussar was the largest private yacht of its time. Following World War II, the Sea Cloud saw a rapid succession of owners, until a captain from Hamburg brought it back to Germany in 1978.
