The restaurants include one located at 10130-300 Green Level Church Road in Cary and another at 705 Ninth Street in Durham. Both the restaurants have been designed so as to reduce carbon footprint. The facilities also run low on energy and water consumption as compared to conventional restaurants.
The restaurants are equipped with various other green features which include recycled floor tile, highly-efficient Energy Star-rated HVAC systems and low flow and flush fixtures in public restrooms. The buildings have installed energy-saving lighting systems and are designed to allow maximum passage of natural light for seated customers.
Other sustainable features of the restaurants are utilisation of building materials from sustainable sources along with extensive use of recycled products and furnishings. The eateries are installed with LED interior and exterior signage, remote condensing units for refrigeration, ice-making equipment as well as Energy Star-eligible kitchen appliances. Use of low VOC adhesives, sealants, paints and coatings, recycling collection of post-consumer recyclable waste produced in-store in addition to Forest Stewardship Certified wood adds to the restaurants’ eco-friendliness.
