The Amundson Hall is located at the East Bank of the university. The site is in close proximity to the Central Corridor light rail route (LRT) which is currently udner construction.

Plans call for the construction of a four storey building that will house offices, work spaces and labs for the Chemical Engineering and Materials Science Departments. The existing hall will also be expanded by 35,000 square feet including 12,000 square feet for a penthouse for mechanical equipment and 23,000 square feet of usable space.

The project also involves overhauling of the Amundson Hall to bring it at par with the current standards. Work will include replacing the old windows of the building and curtain wall that faces the LRT route.

The project is anticipated to commence in 2012 and is slated for completion in 2013. The university anticipates raising a third of project’s estimated cost from private sources. The university is currently seeking tenders for pre-design services of the new construction and renovation.
