Joining its sister yacht Ocean Emerald, Ocean Pearl is the second in a series of four innovative and identical four-deck yachts being built for the YachtPlus fractional ownership program. These superyachts will feature five suites designed to accommodate up to twelve guests that will have seven trained crew on board.
The new superyacht Ocean Pearl features dramatic grey superstructure that stoops from the bow to the stern and sports a spacious interior. Foster worked in partnership with the Rodriquez Cantieri Navali on the Ocean Pearl project. The superyacht will undergo official sea trials prior to its official launch in April 2010.
YachtPlus, formed in 2005 by a group of financial investors and entrepreneurs, is a fractional ownership company which designs and builds beautiful yachts and sells fractional ownership to a maximum of eight owners per yacht.
The third yacht of the fleet, Ocean Sapphire, is due to be launched in May 2010 and the yet to be named fourth yacht is scheduled to enter service by early 2011.
