The arena has a capacity to accommodate 6,603 spectators. Refurbishment work will include replacement of its bleachers as well as creation of additional handicapped accessible seating areas to facilitate the disabled. Extra premium seats will be provided in the place of the existing press box in the western part of the arena and a new press box will be constructed on the west of the facility.

Other features of the upgraded arena will include improved concourses with extra concession stands. The facility will also be equipped with new exterior windows with its lighting facilities also getting an overhaul. The arena will also install new scoreboards incorporating nine, center hung, LED video screens. The scoreboard installation will form apart of a $20 million initiative which involves replacement of scoreboards at Yost, Michigan Stadium and Crisler Arena.

Work is expected to commence after the 2011-2012 hockey season with revamp work due for completion by 2012-2013 season.
