Nikken Sekkei and the project management unit (PMU) have signed this contract. The National History Museum will be designed to combine the two existing museums – the Revolutionary Museum and the Vietnam Historical Museum. It will cover the national history, the national construction and defense and culture and creativeness of the Vietnamese people. The museum spanning 10 hectare will have in-door and out-door areas. The museum is expected to become a culture-information center and provide information on cultural heritage in Vietnam.
Akihico Hamada, Nikken Sekkei’s executive manager said that the company will use solar energy to alleviate carbon dioxide and will also propose state-of-the-art technology for the project.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved a project to build the National History Museum at the Huu Nghi (Friendship) Park in a new residential area near Ho Tay in Hanoi in 2006.
