The US-based design and consulting firm, Gresham, Smith and Partners (GS&P) provided design services for the Nissan Americas Corporate Facility. The building has been honored in the Energy Leadership category, and has been recognized based on outstanding leadership in improving energy efficiency, developing advanced energy technologies and using renewable energy resources.

GS&P has designed the 460,000 square feet, 10-story Nissan Americas Corporate Facility in such a way as to enhance Nissan’s employee efficiency and collaboration while incorporating sustainability in both interior and exterior environments. The building is located on a 50-acre site in Franklin and includes a site design that minimizes energy consumption, maximizes open space, uses high-recycled content materials and incorporates on-site renewable resources.

The design has helped in preserving large areas of open green space, besides improving 2.5 acres of existing on-site wetlands. The building is equipped with a variety of energy-efficient strategies including aluminum sunshades which extend around the façade of the building on each level, low-emissive, high performance glass, an under floor air distribution system and a vegetative roof.
