The student activities building that houses the Division of Highways will be converted into an arts and science building that will have an Allied Health Lab, house classrooms, a studio for New River’s fine arts program and a student activities center. The ground breaking ceremony for the renovation will take place on 16 September 2011.
The funding for the Greenbrier Valley Campus project will be met by the 2009 Community and Technical Colleges Lottery Revenue Bonds, which will contribute $3 million for the project. Additional funding will be done by the West Virginia Community and Technical College Council.
The project has been designed by Princeton-based ET Boggess Architects and North Carolina-based MBAJ Architecture. In addition to this, NRCTC has also leased out its swimming pool to the Greenbrier County Commission for renovation. The renovated pool will be opened to general public.
