The hall is the first dorm in the university and also the second university-owned building to receive LEED Gold certification. It imbibes a host of green features such as heat reflective surfaces on its roof. Incorporation of these surfaces helps reduce air conditioning expenses. The entire building has also been fitted with efficient lighting fixtures which run low on energy usage.
In addition, the facility comprises water-saving toilets and shower heads which add to its sustainability factor. Among other eco-friendly features include use of reclaimed materials, as well as installation of advanced green technology.
