The new GBP15 million ($21.9 million approx) facility forms the first phase of a larger redevelopment scheme, which seeks to transform the historic venue into one of the country’s premier sporting destinations.

The Point has been designed to function as a highly flexible and technically advanced conference and banqueting facility capable of accommodating 1000 people at a single sitting.

The design of The Point has been influenced by the requirement for space and height. The large well-proportioned banqueting space hovers above a seating terrace below. This space has been designed to offer uninterrupted views to the pitch benefiting from an impressive full height glazed wall.

Sustainable elements have also been incorporated into the facility. Rainwater harvesting, solar collectors and a state-of-the-art low energy lighting system have been installed at The Point. These features enable the building to achieve a Gold Rating in the Green Business Tourism scheme.

The GBP32 million ($48.9 million approx) redevelopment scheme of the Old Trafford cricket ground is part of an innovative sports-led regeneration strategy for a 20 hectare mixed use neighborhood. The Old Trafford Cricket Ground has been the home of LCCC since its foundation in 1864.
