The exhibition sees the talented designer return to the university where he studied as a furniture and product design student.

The exhibition will feature product and interior design reflecting the history of the company, which began after graduation from a converted shed in Philip’s back garden and went on to become one of the UK’s leading creative design firms. The business, named FX Interior Design Practice of the Year in 2007, now boasts a ten-strong design team, with a design studio, workshop and showroom.

One eye catching features will be an iconic‘melting’ spiral staircase, sculpted in cast aluminium. The piece will be a work in progress so visitors will be able to see different components are used. Other pieces including an exciting chandelier, statement handles and a wall installation of ‘Gloo’ urinals, sinks and early retail products such as the ‘Moo’ salt and pepper pot cows, ‘Mr Looney’ lamp and Wee Willy Winky candlesticks will also feature.

This is the first time this range of work has been seen together as a complete history of creative output, and the exhibition will aim to give visitors the chance to see the thoughts and processes which have been integral to the company’s success.

Philip says “Interested in design – be it product, commercial, interior or retro, then this is the exhibition for you. Come along for a glass of wine at the private view and meet the team!”
