Designed by Zeke Fernandez, the enhanced Pillars Hotel now features an expanded common area. Smaller rooms have been eliminated to make room for larger and more comfortable suites. The new space features a formal dining room, wine bar and elegant lobby/lounge area. The hotel provides a well equipped 22-seat boardroom for meetings and conferences.
Designer Zeke Fernandez has combined classic and art deco style architecture as his inspiration for the new dining and lounge theme. This has resulted in a more pleasant ambient space. Some of the distinctive features include dark wood flooring, which sets a contrast with off white panelled walls. Bold millwork containing inserts of hand woven bleached raffia wall covering, stepped ceiling details with recessed cove lights, polished nickel and frosted glass of 40’s style, and fluted light pendants mixed with hand blown, convex mirrors, and linen drum shades are some other novel interior design elements.
The Pillars Hotel, which has eliminated smaller rooms in the process of renovation, now features 18 rooms overall. Fernandez enhanced the property’s rooms by incorporating a more modern feel. The British Colonial style rooms feature signed photography by well-known Miami black-and-white photographer Marilyn Brown.
