The downtown baseball stadium is the new home of the city’s Double A baseball team, the Tulsa Drillers.
The ballpark is designed by architectural firm Populous, formerly HOK Sport Venue Event, of Kansas City, Missouri. The new ballpark will have a capacity of at least 6,200 seats, 30 suites and a sunken playing field about 13 feet below street level. It will replace the existing Drillers Stadium, located at the Tulsa County Fairgrounds.
Last week, the digital scoreboard and a ribbon board were lit. Promotions and sponsorship logos will rotate on the digital scoreboard screen. A sponsorship sign, featured on the back of the scoreboard, will be visible only from outside the stadium. Some sponsorship signs of the team will be displayed along portions of the outfield wall.
