Passengers can relax in comfortable and stylish seating at the new Porter lounge accompanied by complimentary wireless Internet access, or work at business work stations equipped with iMac computers. All Porter passengers have access to complimentary coffee, cappuccinos, lattés, teas, soft drinks and snacks from the self-serve café.

The new lounge space is designed to accommodate passengers flying within Canada, while the pre-existing lounge is currently made exclusive to those travelling to the US. The modern lounges are free of charge, and open to all departing passengers with a valid boarding pass.

Porter Airlines has constructed the new lounge to support increasing passenger numbers as part of 150,000 square feet, CAD49 million ($47.7 million) terminal development project.

The new passenger terminal was opened by the airlines on 7 March 2010. Phase one of the terminal scheme includes lounge facilities, a spacious check-in hall and office space. The full facility, including 10 bridged aircraft gates and two passenger lounges is scheduled for completion by early 2010. Remaining elements of the development include the installation of three permanent aircraft gates and the provision of food service and retail space.

Building partners for the terminal are design architect Scott Associates Architects Inc., interior designer figure3, and lead contractor The Maple Reinders Group.

Porter Airlines currently serves Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Moncton, Halifax, St. John’s, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Newark, Chicago Midway, and Boston Logan year-round. Porter Airlines also offers seasonal flights to Mt. Tremblant, Quebec and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
