Extravagant colours are becoming increasingly popular in interiors, and Bette has created new effect colours which open up a multitude of possibilities for eye-catching bathroom design.
Bette took inspiration from the shimmering colours in nature, such as mother-of-pearl, to create the new Forest effect colour for its baths, washbasins and shower areas. Depending on the way the light falls, the new colour shimmers mysteriously in shades from green and brown to violet, giving the bathroom products a charming optical depth.
"There is a trend for iridescent surfaces, which are found everywhere today, from high-gloss car lacquers, to eye shadows, fabrics and jewellery. With the Forest effect colour, we are able to bring this play with colour into the bathroom and it makes the bathroom products both understated and exciting," explains Sven Rensinghoff, head of marketing at Bette.
Bette showed the new Forest effect colour on a BetteLux Shape bath.
Bette also added a little sparkle and glamour to the bathroom with its sparkling new effect colour, Midnight: a new shade of anthracite that has been combined with sparkling particles. It was shown on the BetteLoft Ornament freestanding bath.
The company’s third effect colour, also launched at Salone del Mobile, is Blue Satin, a shimmering powder blue which was shown on a BetteLux Oval Silhouette bath.
The new Forest, Midnight and Blue Satin effect colours will be available from autumn 2018 on a wide range of Bette products.
Bringing another fresh and colourful highlight to the bathroom, was a new glazed titanium-steel design concept of vertical stripes in soft berry and earth shades. The new Deco concept was shown on a BetteLux Silhouette bath and was created with the designers Tesseraux + Partner. The stripes were applied to the apron of the bath as foils and then permanently fired onto the bath.
Bette also used Salone del Mobile to talk about the huge colour choice offered by the Bette World of Colour. Hundreds of gloss and matt colours are available, as well as 22 exclusive matt colours that give bathroom designers the freedom to choose the Bette bath, washbasin or shower area to suit colour trends in tiles, natural stone and wooden floors.
Bespoke Colours
In addition, The Bette Colour Lab offers architects and bathroom planners the option to create their own special colour for orders of a particular size.
The colours are mixed in the Colour Lab before being permanently melted with the titanium steel in Bette's proven wet-in-wet enamelling process. Whatever the colour, the finished product will be durable, easy-care, scratch and UV resistant and will have a 30 year warranty.
"Individual colour requests for major projects are nothing new to Bette. Sometimes it is a specific colour to bring a particular emotion or dynamic into the bathroom, or to link it to the key colours of the project.
“Our passion is for bathroom products in glazed titanium-steel. That is why we are constantly experimenting with new colours, colour concepts and surfaces” explains Sven Rensinghoff, head of marketing at Bette.
