To commemorate this impressive milestone, Roca will host a variety of centenary events, celebratory exhibitions and exciting promotions taking place at venues around the UK throughout the year.
Roca began life in 1917, originally as a manufacturer of cast iron radiators at its factory in Gavà, near Barcelona. From these humble origins, the company has grown into a global business driven by a firm focus on improving the quality of life for its customers. Roca first started producing vitreous china in 1936 and faucets in 1954 and continued to innovate with new designs, new products and new materials to ultimately provide the complete bathroom solution.
Throughout its history, Roca has always contributed to the evolution of the bathroom space all around the world. Its constant investment in design and product manufacturing, its entrepreneurial spirit and independence as a family-owned business, set Roca apart and clearly demonstrates why the company has earned the recognition of being a reference company in the bathroom space globally.
In 2017, Roca is established as the world leader in bathrooms. The company now has over 22,600 employees, manufactures at 78 state-of-the-art facilities around the world and is active in over 170 markets. In the United Kingdom, the company has been at the forefront of bathroom design for several decades, even before the opening of its Leicestershire subsidiary in 1993.
"We are thrilled to be making history in 2017 with 100 Years of Roca," comments Alan Dodds, Managing Director at Roca UK. "Roca prides itself on setting the standards in bathroom design and remaining true to its four core values: well-being, innovation, design and sustainability. Over the past 100 years, we have built our success on these principles. We are looking forward to celebrating our centenary in partnership with our customers, suppliers and employees on multiple occasions during the year and laying the platform for the next 100 years!"
